KENTON COZENS
BLOG FOR MONDAY 15th JUNE 2015

So today we were still in the larger separate group of 8, (although only six of us turned up), to work on our side project film, ‘Drugs Bunny’, a mix of genres intended to include action, comedy and horror. The plan was to shoot three separate sections of the film, each one representing one of the three genres, and to have these linked and framed by another scene, which the guys shot on Friday . I think that in hindsight, this was probably a bit ambitious, as it effectively meant we had to try and shoot three different films with one camera.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get much actual filming done, as lot of time was wasted at the beginning, partly due to my accidently leaving the all-important Bunny mask in a locker back at Ravensbourne, but also due to the rest of the team not actually really doing anything for that ¾ of an hour. And in the end, we didn’t even use the mask in any of the shots that we did get! I think there was some confusion, and lack of planning, over who was going to do what jobs, and the story was a little confused as well. But we did have fun, and some practice time with the camera, which is always useful.
We agreed that, time permitting, we would go back to this project, and try to complete the sections which weren’t filmed. This might involve some of us coming in on a non-class day to try and get the work done. Guess we’ll see what happens. I think it was a useful lesson in the difficulties of juggling different projects at the same time, which was one of the main reasons Ian set this task for us.

Maz, Marija, Nathaniel and Simone, reviewing rabbit footage.

                                              Group dynamic in action.

                                           Drugs Bunny himself,

                                        Antoine observing the action.

Looking forward to the next class, where we will have a chance to reassemble in our original groups, and carry on pre-planning for the main project film.
